CHCS Alumni PTK Induction
We at CHCS are so proud of our alumni who are new new members of Phi Theta Kappa. They were part of the 2015 induction ceremony at Holmes Community College tonight. Congratulations to (L-R) Terrell Wynne (2014), Haley Blain (2014), Taylor Adcock (2014), Andrew Gilmore (2013), Alex Sizemore (2014), Mackenzie McCleskey (2014), and Alex McLemore (2013).
CHCS is very proud of Dr. Jim Haffey. Dr. Haffey has been named as the new President of Holmes Community College. Dr. Haffey is a alumnus of Central Holmes, Class of 1995. He and his wife Rae Anne have two children, Hayley (11) and Hudson (9). Dr. Haffey has held many positions at Holmes over the last 11 years.
He was one of four candidates considered for this prestigous position. We wish the Haffey family the best as they embark on this new and exciting journey.
Lily Fran McCrory
The 28th Higher Education Appreciation Day – Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) recognition banquet in February , 2015, will be attended by Holmes Community College student Ms. Lily Fran McCrory. Lily Fran is a 2013 graduate of Central Holmes. Each year, HEADWAE honors an outstanding student from each participating member institution of the Mississippi Association of Colleges and Universities. HEADWAE is sponsored by the Mississippi Legislature.
Lily Fran is a 4.0 Pre-Medical student and she is an officer in Phi Theta Kappa, a participant in the Leadership Institute, a member of the Baptist Student Union, and a recipient of the Michael Klauk Award. Lily Fran is also a recipient of a scholarship for the Holmes Plus Program which is a program for highly motivated students who are majoring in a science or mathematics field. Lily Fran McCrory’s parents are Frankie and Robin McCrory from Lexington.

Lily Fran McCrory, the Valedictorian of the CHCS Class of 2013, is currently a sophomore at Holmes Community College in Goodman. Lily Fran’s continued academic success has given her the opportunity to be a part of Phi Theta Kappa. Not only does she serve as the Chapter Reporter for the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, but also she holds a regional position. Lily Fran was elected as the Regional Reporter for the Mississippi/Louisiana Region of Phi Theta Kappa and was recognized on September 26, 2014, at Jackson State University for this honor.
