There is a new page on our site.  On this page, we will be posting activities and events that our student, faculty, parents, and community are involved.  This could be anything from competition, volunteer work, community service, awards, etc.  Please email any information you would like posted to website to melaniedavis@bellsouth. (this may be anything they are involved in such as boyscouts, 4H, tournament teams, volunteer work, etc.).

Kosciusko Kraze, USSSA Baseball-12AA, Recently won 2nd place at NIT Slugfest Tournament in Winona. Team members that attend CHCS are: Bret Burnley, Parker Morgan, Tanner Kyle, and Austin Hager.
      
Mid South Extreme All-Stars Dominate in Competition
Mid South Extreme All-Stars consist of three squads: Exhibition, Mini, and Youth. The Exhibition squad only performs at the competitions and the Mini and Youth compete.The Mid South Extreme All-stars have competed in Biloxi, Tunica, Southaven, Tupelo and Jackson at the Dixie Championships. The Mini group finished first in their division and received bids to the UCA All-Star National Championship televised on ESPN and the U.S. All-Levels Championship.  The girls are 7-8 years old.The Youth group finished first in their division and won Overall Champion out of 48 teams ranging in age from 5-18.  They received bids to the UCA All-star National Championship and a paid bid to the U.S. All-Levels Championship.  They range in age from 9-12.The MSE groups competed Jan. 22 in Tunica at the Delta Blues Challenge.Both groups won their division receiving bids to the National Championship and the All-Levels Championship.On Jan. 30, the Youth and Mini squads competed at the WSA competition in Southhaven. Mini placed first in their division and Youth placed second in their division.

Routines are 2.5 minutes long consisting of tumbling, pyramids, basket tosses, stunts, and a cheer.

Haden and Hunter Box receive ArenaCross Awards

The ArenaCross tour is finally over. Haden and  Hunter Box once again made Holmes County look really good.  On Sunday, March 6th, they held the awards banquet in Germantown TN. Haden placed 1st in the 4-6 year old class and 7th in the 4-8 beginner class overall. Hunter placed 2nd in the 7-8 year old class and 3rd in the 7-8 open class. They had some really tough competition. There were at least 20 to 24 bikes on the gates at every race.  Great job guys, we are so proud of you!!!

 Hunter Box 3rd grade (#01) and Haden Box K-5 (#2) have been racing in the ArenaCross tour this year. They have been racing all over Mississippi and Tennessee. They have placed in the top 5 in all of their races. Haden is currently in 1st place in overall points in his class and Hunter is 2nd in his. They have 3 more races before the awards banquet. Congratulations boys and Good Luck!!!!

State Fair Talent Competition
3rd Place Overall
Elizabeth Wynne, 4th grade student at CHCS, placed 3rd overall at the 2010 State Fair Talent Competion.  This was a very stiff cometition with 87 entries in all.  Elizabeth received 3rd place for her performance of "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables. Congratulations Elizabeth, we are so proud of you! 
Congratulations to our 4-H Livestock Exhibitors
State Fair Contests
We have several students who are competing this week and weekend in the Livestock Show at the State Fair, October 8th - 16th. We had several winners. 
  • Hallie Murtagh and John Thomas Murtagh both placed first in Showmanship in their respective classes with their market hogs.
  • Jake Killebrew placed second in Showmanship in his class.
  • Tyler Diffey was at the fair with his cattle. Tyler won reserve champion in one of his classes and second in the other.
  • Kylee Killebrew won 1st place in the Showmanship competition for goat exhibitors.
